Fire Compartmentation Surveying
Fire Compartmentation is effectively the process of dividing a building into smaller manageable fire resisting compartments to enable the occupants either evacuate safely or to stay put as determined in a fire strategy report.
Generally, building compartment lines are required to be penetrated by the likes of electrical and mechanical services and for the installation of fire doors to enable the building to function.
Effective compartmentation would fail if the materials used to seal penetrations in compartment walls are not suitable and if fire doors are not correctly installed.
At Safeguard Consultancy we provide an on-site service to complete either a sample survey of your building’s effective compartmentation or a comprehensive survey of the building which will identify all unsuitable penetrations and vulnerabilities.
